The main objective of the ASME program module is to calculate the thickness of a vessel wall if the design pressure is known, or to calculate the design pressure if the thickness of the vessel wall is known. The calculation method will depend on whether the vessel is a cylindrical shell or an ellipsoidal head. Corrosion allowance, joint efficiency, as well as mill tolerance and stress value will also influence the outcome of the calculation.
